How would you improve your community?

The global job market is going through a difficult phase. In recent months, we’ve seen large-scale layoffs across multiple industries. Thousands of people have been affected, and for many, it has created uncertainty about the future. While companies often cite restructuring and cost optimization, one major driver behind these changes is the rapid rise of artificial intelligence.

AI is transforming how work gets done. Tasks that once required manual effort can now be automated or completed faster with smart tools. This shift is increasing efficiency—but it’s also forcing people to rethink their skills and career paths.

So, how can we improve our community during such times?

Instead of focusing only on the negative side of layoffs, I believe we should focus on adapting and supporting each other. The goal is not just to survive change—but to grow with it.

In my own experience, I’ve started helping people around me learn how to use AI tools in their daily work. The idea is simple: use technology to become more efficient and valuable, no matter what your profession is.

I recently interacted with a small street food vendor who sells rolls and noodles. Despite not having a technical background, he used AI tools to build a simple system for his daily operations.

He tracks his sales, estimates how much raw material he uses each day, and plans his next purchase accordingly. This helps him reduce waste, save time, and run his business more smoothly.

This example shows that AI is not limited to big companies or tech professionals—it can be used by anyone willing to learn.

To strengthen our community, I believe we should focus on four key areas:

  1. Awareness – Help people understand what AI is and how it can be useful
  2. Practical Learning – Encourage hands-on use of simple tools in daily life
  3. Skill Development – Motivate people to upgrade their skills continuously
  4. Knowledge Sharing – Build a culture where people help each other grow

Change can be uncomfortable, especially when it impacts jobs and livelihoods. But history has shown that every major shift also creates new opportunities.

The key is to stay informed, keep learning, and support one another.

A strong community does not avoid change—but one that adapts together and moves forward with confidence.
