Now, Islamabad is dialing up Berlin and Washington, hoping to get its hands on German IRIS‑T batteries or maybe even a Patriot deal. It’s a smart (and arguably overdue) move. Western missile systems have battle-tested credibility, unlike some of their Chinese counterparts, which—let’s be honest—felt more like beta versions during a real-world demo. Beyond the hardware itself, this pivot signals a broader intent: Pakistan wants reliable protection, not just another glossy catalog of underperforming promises. Diversifying defense partners isn’t just good strategy—it’s survival.
